I am a single mum and let me tell you it was absolutely EXHAUSTING to play the role of the unwavering father and and a soft nurturing mother. Now all my kids are in their 20s and I am still trying to catch my breath. It is unnatural for me to be in a role of the father where all I wanna do is be soft and cuddly 😔 may GOD bless us with wisdom, backbone and kindness 🙏

I agree.
When I, as Mom, tell my kids to do something, they do it but I get whining, sulking, whys, can I do it laters, slammed doors, etc. When Dad tells them, they obey like marines. When I had to discipline my kids, I couldn't wait until the time when I could squeeze them in my arms again.
I always tell my husband, for me it's difficult being a disciplinarian and the nurturer. It forces me to split myself into multiple persons and it's burdensome on my mental state. It's stressful.
It's better when my husband enforces the rules and I back him up. It makes the home feel more structured and harmonious.
That's why when Dads discipline the kids, Moms have to go in the other room to keep from interfering, because it feels too harsh to us when it's actually not. Afterwards we ask hubby, "you weren't too harsh were you?" 😅

He is right. No matter how good is a single mother but she can’t play the roles of mother and father. At the end of the day single mother gets exhausted of earning, providing, managing home, bills, doing grocery, cooking cleaning, disciplining the kids and still lacks in her responsibilities. At the end of the day she is burnout, bad mood, depression and the most guilty mom in her own eyes. :, (
I was raised by a single mother. I am raising my sons as a single mother. People do tell me I am a hard working and brave mother but ask me. I am tired. I am burn out. I want to sit home like a housewife and enjoy my life by cleaning my house, decorating, cooking, doing grocery, doing gardening, have a cup of tea in relaxing way, and give myself an extra time to catch some extra sleep. No one can play a father s role. I agree 100%

You are 100% correct. I noticed that my sons respected men's voices (lower pitch). So when I had to discipline my sons, I would use a lower pitch. They knew I meant what I said. I realize it's not the same as a man, but it proves my point. And, I also tried using my lower pitch voice on my dogs to discipline them...and it works. A man's voice commands authority.

I was raised by a single mother and this is 100% true. My mother had no authority over my brother and myself. She did her best, worked her ass off, but we did what we wanted.

As a single mother I agree with this!!! There have been so many times I have wept for the presence of a strong father figure in my children’s lives and in my own life growing up. So much sorrow and mistakes could have been averted had there been a man there to support me as a mother figure by him being the authoritarian. We need strong men! We need good father’s!!

My parents are both pretty strict and I love and deeply respect them both. When mom gets mad its pretty scary, but when DAD gets mad it'll put the fear of God in me I'm so serious.

When the woman walked into the JD Shop in Catford and I overheard her tell her 14-year old son that she is not able to spend more than £50, the teenager picked 2 shoes that cost £104 each. He went into a rage because the mom cannot pay for his choice. I knew immediately that there is no man in her house to keep respect and authority. Sad...
