You know, Legends makes much more sense. Let's be real, our planet has about 7 billion Human beings. Coruscant has around a Trillion. Any number lower than a Billion troops would make no sense.

Many people think that the numbers in legends are too high but if you think about the whole galaxy it makes much more sense than the canon version where the numbers fit more to the real world here than the SW universe.

the empire at its peak had an overwhelming 10 storm troopers, but then 5 died in the death star and 2 more died on the decline of the empire so it the end they had around 3.42 storm troopers, decimals because you have to account for their disabilities, and casualties caused by various fights.
