The procedure from the video (for those who want a written recipe):
Wash the eggshells thoroughly.
Crack them and eat the insides.
Save the shells and keep them in the freezer.

When you have a gallon zip-lock bag full of eggshells, take them out and put them on a cookie sheet.
Turn oven to 250 degrees (Fahrenheit).
Cook for an hour. This leaves the membrane intact, ensures the egg shells are completely dried out, and kills any bacteria.

Crunch them up in a big bowl, then put them in something like a Magic Bullet or Ninja food processor. Put on "pulverize" and let it run as long as it needs to to create a very fine eggshell powder.

You can sprinkle it on food.

Yes! I eat the eggshells as well! I am aware of the value of nutrients of these. Also, if you have a cut in the skin, the delicate membrane inside of the egg can be used as a bandaid when dried. It will heal the wound and the added nutrients will help in the healing. Farmers used this as a go to, when living on the farm but since the norm as changed society has forgotten these tried and true methods. Thanks for all that you do! 🐓🥚♥️

So, instead of throwing egg shells away, and then buying supplements for calcium and magnesium, I love your idea of how to benefit from the egg shells and save money, as social security does not allow for any waste!! Thanks so much for all your healthful tips!!

I've been doing this exact procedure for years. Only I would feed it back to my chickens to promote strong egg growth. It never crossed my mind to eat it myself. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks Dr. Berry!

Great suggestion! 2 refinements that should be noted. First, do NOT use a blender to grind the shells, unless the blender uses a glass vessel! The shells will abrade plastic, and you will end up with that toxic plastic in your healthy supplement. Next, get a small strainer to catch the pieces that do not become powder. A warning: Ground egg shell is extremely abrasive. If you add it to food that you chew, you can feel it grinding away at the enamel of your teeth! Don't put it in anything you chew! If you mix it with drinks, it sinks so fast you can't get it down. You can add it to a very thick shake I suppose. I solved the problem by buying a capsule filling machine, and making my own eggshell capsules. Pro tip: line the cookie sheet with parchment paper. The little drips of egg that drop onto the cookie sheet harden like epoxy, and are very hard to get off without ruining the cookie sheet. The paper just gets tossed, leaving nothing but a rinse for clean up!

I started eating egg shells (1/2 tsp twice a week) about 2 months ago, but always had a worry that the calcium could go to my arteries instead of my bones. Your video put me at ease! FYI, I use a coffee bean grinder and mix with yogurt, then swallow it down without chewing.

I'm well into adulthood and have had accumulating illness all my life, trying every way of eating I came across. I've just started the carnivore diet being on the 4th day. After the first day I did not crave sweets anymore, total miracle for me! The cravings I've had for so many years, more than sweets was meat and grease but I was swayed against it by so many people. I knew my body was telling me something but I never knew how to transition completely to meat and eggs. Thinking it was just another craving I kept searching and came across your videos. I'm so grateful!! I've never eaten egg shells before but I'm going to try it, looking forward to it.

I’ve added egg shells when making bone broth. Just add the egg shells to the bones and water and let everything simmer together.

Dr. Berry, in my household, haven’t thrown away a single egg shell in 10 years. However, unlike you, the baked and blitzed shells go into the soil just prior to planting. We grow all our vegetables. It’s also incorporated into our livestock feed.

He cleans them before using the insides. Saves the remaining shells in a ziplock bag in the freezer until he has enough to bake. Then bakes large amounts like a gallon bag worth at 250°f for 1 hour. Then grinds baked shells to a power. He consumes 1/2 tsp power, per day, plus sprinkles some on his pet’s foods (Dogs and Cats) too.
PS: Also works well on plants to prevent deficiency diseases, especially for tomatoes and peppers.

My mom, over 30 years ago, used to make "healthy cookies" with dates, nuts.. and crushed baked egg shells for my grandmother. She used to say that the egg shells have a lot of vitamins and minerals that are good for her mom's health!

Hi Dr. Berry. I'm very new into this lifestyle so I've been doing a crash course on your very informative videos. I did my first bag of eggshells today and put them on my meal tonight. I'm pumped up about all of this. I'm 66 years old and feeling better than I've felt in a long time. Had my yearly blood work last week and everything is looking great. My primary Dr told me to not change a thing. Thank you so much, sir!
