Recipe Ingredients for Angel Food Cake:
1 cup cake and pastry flour
1 cup granulated sugar
8 large egg whites, room temperature
½ tsp cream of tartar
⅒ tsp salt
½ cup icing sugar, sifted
½ tsp vanilla extract
whipped cream and berries, to serve

Recipe Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 325ºF (160ºC).
2. Sift the flour and granulated sugar twice and set aside.
3. Whip the egg whites with the cream of tartar and salt until foamy, then gradually add the icing sugar, whipping until the whites hold a medium peak when the beaters are lifted. Stir in the vanilla.
4. Add the flour to the whipped whites in 2 additions and using a whisk to fold in the flour evenly and easily. Scrape the batter into a 10-inch ungreased tube pan, spread it to level and bake the cake for 30-35 minutes, until it springs back when gently pressed (try not to open the oven before 25 minutes).
5. Turn the cake pan upside down to cool the cake, and do not remove the cake from the pan until completely cooled. To remove, run a palette knife carefully around the outside of the cake, and very gently around the inner tube, invert the pan and tap it on the counter until it comes out.
6. Serve the cake with whipped cream and berries, if you wish.
7. The cake will keep, well wrapped (not refrigerated) for up to 3 days.

Makes 1 10-inch tube cake.

see... "never grease the pan". i once argued with my mom when making chocolate angel cake (not with your recipee at that.time). she blamed me for not greasing the pan with butter and flour (so the cake got burned in the sides). now she's passed away and seeing this video reminds me of her. thank.you anna for bringin such beautiful memory.

Thank you, I looked everywhere to find an angel food cake recipe with EIGHT eggs, and yours won! (didn't want to go into the supermarket for a dozen eggs and 8 was what I had already) AND add 1 or 2 tbs water and the egg whites double in size!

I've been searching for an informative and clear angel food cake recipe to recreate the one my mom made for almost every on of us kids' birthdays growing up, and this is the one. I have chosen to eat sugar, flour and somewhere stuff only once a year while I battle stage IV breast cancer, and will be asking for this for my birthday this year. Thank you Chef Anna 🤗

This Angel Food Cake recipe gave me wonderful memories of my mother making my favorite birthday cake every year -- Angel Food Cake with sticky frosting. I've never made an Angel Food Cake, but with your video I feel I can, and will, make one! Now I just need a video on making the sticky frosting recipe. Thank you very much for the tutorials!

Made it a couple of weeks ago, turned out perfect! Today I have 12 egg white waiting in the fridge and I'm debating if I just try and make a bigger cake (scared it will take to long to cook properly in my 10 inch pan) or make individual in muffin tin instaid... Will post the result on instagram and tag you!

Awesome video. No useless chatter, great camera angles so you can see all aspects of the process, & a very pleasant personality. I enjoyed it very much.
I would like to ask though, is a bundt pan absolutely necessary? I very rarely ever bake and never ever a bundt cake because I don’t care for them, all crust. I would like to try an angel food cake but I doubt, not being much of a sweet eater, that I will do it again in the very near future.
