When F-14 Tomcats Scared The Iraqi MiGs That They Ran Away Without Fight In 1991 #shorts

On January 17, 1991, four F-14 Tomcats were launched from aircraft carriers to hit an ADOC. At least 12 Iraqi interceptors were flying in four groups of "bogeys," according to an E-2, but they weren't declared enemies. The F-14 Tomcats spotted the four MiG-29s that were closest to them as the Navy formation crossed the border. It was evident from the manner in which the Iraqis flew their paths that they were skilled at diverting F-14s and preventing them from firing Phoenix missiles. Although he and his formation captured the Iraqi jets with their radar, the formation leader took no chances. The Iraqis responded quickly, and one division moved southwest, while the others went northeast. To be safe, the formation leader separated his division and sent two Tomcats after the four MiGs. However, they never came face-to-face with the Tomcats, and the F-14s won the aerial war without ever launching a missile. The strike was successful, and all of the engaged aircraft went home after the Iraqi interceptors ran away. They could have achieved up to 12 aerial victories on that day, but some issues prevented them.
