the way I see the world, all that matters is how many rare tropical plants you own when you die. If you own 100 palm trees you die rich. if you have a billion dollars and solved a famous math proof, but own no tropical plants. you die poor. This might be an unpopular take, but at least I am in the arena trying stuff. I think the math department should invest in A LOT of tropical plant seeds and cultivate them, build a large greenhouse. I know its not related to mathematics but it would guaruntee success of the program.
