Are atheists really the ones complaining about Christmas? It feels like religious folk are the ones who don't like it when other religions are being included.

More often than not it’s Christians trying to force everyone else to say or not say something. A lot of Christmas songs don’t even mention Christ or god. It’s become a secular holiday for a lot of people. The idea of an atheist getting mad at Rudolph is funny lol

As a staunch atheist, I do not understand this sort of thing. There is a stark difference between religious holidays that are disruptive and disrespectful towards non-believers, and religious holidays that just...are.

Besides, Santa is not a religious figure, he's a folkloric figure.

My country split the church from goverment ages ago so we have vacations on religious holidays to let the religious people celebrate, but rebranded the names to something non-religious, like family day (christmas), tourism week (easter) etc.

Edit: im not sure if i was clear, just in case imma add that there's no religious prosecution or anything 😅 everyone gets the free day, people call it by the religious name if they are from that religion, and also if they are not too cos we grew up with loosely-religious parents/grandparents
