MW2 No Russian Without the Black Screen

Pretty interesting that Makarov puts Kiril in a choke twice while in the elevator. Maybe there was originally an entire elevator cutscene that got scrapped and replaced with a black screen.

When he grabs Kiril, he mouths "remember, no russian" followed by something else. It's interesting that they decided to change it and remove Makarov grabbing Kiril completely for the final version.

I wonder just how many people are actually starting to grasp the concept of "No Russian"
They definitely shouldnt have taken this out. It would've gave more hidden clarity. If they'd had kept it small, more players would've definitely got the deal.

So after looking throught the code, all the soundalias files for the dialog were removed. The developers did leave comments in the code which show that Kiril was saying something along the lines of "no survivors" judging by the alias name "airport_at1_nosurv" and makarov responded with something along the lines of "No Russian" judging by the alias name "airport_mkv_noruss"

Looks like the devs intended to have a conflict with those characters but then decided not too and left this part in the game and used a black screen to hide it instead of removing it.

“Remember, no Russian” is a double entendre, in a sense. No speaking Russian, and also the dude they’re all staring at isn’t really Russian.
