So many long time institutions are grasping at relevance within the broad spectrum of ways to think. During the time my grandmother was on this earth, 1886 - 1984 she saw and described this very phenomena within the ALC and the WLC. In this century we see the same trying to take hold in the LCMS. Thanks be to God for lifting up Church Leaders like Dr. Schultz and Pastor Wolfmueller. Hold on, gentlemen, our fingers are stretching as we pass through the current modernist sludge.

Dr. Schultz, I heard you preach at my church and was aware of your situation. I have prayed for you and I glad to get an update.

Hopefully more of this type of conversation begins and grows throughout the classical confessional world. It is desperately needed.

We in the LCMS need to keep a close eye on this. Our Concordia Universities feed into our seminaries and all our schools.

Our LCMS pastor in Sycamore, Il. is dedicated to Lutheran orthodoxy and is not at all reluctant to condemn this woke garbage. Our congregation is truly blessed to have such a dedicated, scriptural, loving pastor.✝️

Very honorable Pastor! Rev. Schultz should be Synod President next time around or at the very least 1st VP. Time for change.

The whole Woke movement never set right with me. You have explained this so well and I am grateful for you both for being so informative. It makes sense to me now and I will continue to listen and learn. God Bless you and thank you.

Thank you both for this excellent interview. Rev. Dr. Schulz, thank you for standing up to the CUW administration. I just finished your book, it was excellent. As an LCMS member I find it absolutely frightening and frustrating that the Woke Marxist ideologies are infiltrating our LCMS Synod and Concordia University system. This was quite evident in the recent controversy with the release of the revised Luther's Large Catechism with Annotations and Contemporary Applications. There were more than a couple of the essays contained within that had obvious woke themes. This makes we wonder about our future as a synod. Could this come to a point where there is a split, and individual conservative LCMS congregations leave and form their own synod of sorts? Or could this eventually lead to LCMS members being drawn to the WELS Synod? Thanks again for the great interview.

Thanks for discussing this. I am praying that our seminaries and Concordia stop the woke ideology. I remember the seminex issue, I was glad that seminex left at that time, I pray that God will send strong Christians to root out the woke things.
Perhaps some of the problems are that administrators are trained in the current ideology of business administration instead of God's Word.
My current LCMS congregation is conservative Bible following.

I attended Concordia University Wisconsin in online learning last year. I had to withdraw for some family reasons, but I still receive emails on occasion from the advising office.

I received an email this past week, and my advisor had her “Pronouns” in her signature block.

It is incredibly disappointing to see this DEI, Critical Theory, so prevalent in a Lutheran school.

So much good information I watched it twice. Very illuminating. Thank you, warriors!

This corrosion of our language and our culture was going on in the LCMS even before SEMINEX. I attended Concordia, Milwaukee, in the mid-60s and there was already a voice of critical theory in our study of the New Testament. I suffered a crisis of faith arising from my New Testament studies there. The living seeds of this evil were there, even then.

This conversation (and presumably book, I'll have to pick up up to know for sure), goes hand-in-hand and flows nicely from Dr. Cooper's Makers of the Modern World series. No other explanation, study of Political Science, etc has come close to breaking all of this social discussion into something accessible.

Thanks for sharing!

This definitely needs to be shared. I have shared it myself.

Well, here we go again. I had hoped we were done with this with Seminex. Thanks pastors for getting me up to speed with this.

This makes me sick to my stomach. I was a member of LCMS Good Shepherd Church in Collinsville. The day I left this church was the day the current head pastor ‘s position was announced. On this day one of the church founders stood up and announced that he wasn’t happy. He claimed he didn’t personally know some of us and he was sorry we were allowed to join. I left and never went back. I was invited to the ELCA and I joined. 6-7 years later. The Bible was wrong and woke ism took over. I will not take Holy Communion from a woke pastor. Now back to a different LCMS church. If the LCMS goes woke, I’ll stop going to church altogether and try to start a house church. So sad.😢
