A retired California sheriff's deputy is missing and was last seen on an island in Greece. One of six tourists who have either died or gone missing during the European nation's historic heatwave. It's been eight days since anyone has seen Albert Calibet. He went for a hike on the island of Amorgos when temperatures were topping 100 degrees. Now, his girlfriend Debbie Leshane says too little has been done to locate him.

Hiking during extreme heat is never a good idea, even if you have plenty of water.

🤦‍♀️ what is with people wanting to hike when it over 100 degrees outside. I don’t even want to go outside when it’s 90 degree.

You don't hike alone in a foreign country. Especially during a heat wave. Where is the common sense with people?

Wow, I’m British and a well known doctor / tv personality went missing on a walk a few weeks ago on the Greek island of Symi, sadly found days later only meters from safety. Eerie coincidence….

Americans go to different countries and then get mad when the country they’re in doesn’t respond the same way America does. Americans need to learn more about the country they’re going to and respect their laws.

The dude is like 100 years old, his mouth looks like he already had a stroke at some point and you dont think in 100+ degree weather t the top of a Greek mountain wasn’t the main suspect? All she did was blame the Greeks and come on national broadcast to make baseless accusations. You know the Greek government saves thousands of people att sea every year and just spent a week straight searching for another lost tourist? Each island probably has their own procedures for this kind of thing.

You can't expect American style anything in a foreign country. Will pray for a miracle.

You're ALWAYS supposed to use the buddy system when you're in a different country.

Hope they search off the trails too. Severe dehydration/hypothermia can disorient you and could have made him wander off the trail/path.

There were 2 hikers airlifted by helicopter out of the California mountains. They were dehydrated, they sa said they had run out of water midway throughout their hike. In this case several things could have wrong. I hope they find him.

Firstly : i feel sorry to hear it although i can say that is difficult or even impossible to understand the limitations that the human body can expressed under completely & extreme heat wave so hiking at this advance age strictly is forbidden by the experts so walking make no sense !!! On top of that in my opinion the question remained : did the participants evaluated the weather conditions ??? Did had any past health issues ??? But even not alone but with the presence of other figures two or three or even say four walking is undesirable & to think that in a terrain like this there is not even one tree to take in its shadow cover for survival !!! I really don't know what to make out of this it just make no sense !!!
