when you're a little kid, this is amazing. like having dessert with dinner. but now my family will do toasted pecans on top instead. same technique. also my mom usually adds a bit of cinnamon. it's very good and a once a year thing, in most cases.

I prefer sweet potato casserole with nuts on top instead of marshmallows. The marshmallows always make it much too sweet

A lot of ppl can't eat nuts so the marshmallows are added, the great thing about food is you can fix it anyway you like, no right way or wrong way

I just made this dish, I did everything she did except adding pepper. We usually have it as a sweet dish so we added sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Came out delicious!! And it was my first time! My whole family loved it
