I followed your tutorial and I got a wonderful result as well.
The only problem it has been the <CNTR+J> as shown in 1:00 to 1:15; the commad works creating the sequence of layers, but on the graphic nothing happens; I have been forced to drag one-by-one each of them.
I know this command, but often it happens this kind of proble; as it is at the present is seems to be too fimsy.

I’m using Affinity 1.8.3 and I don’t see that function at 00:34? Is that something other than grouping?

Affinity has not a 3D or Extrude tool for creating 3d shape, But you are creating it manually. Good :)

Not all fonts work with this I assume? I can replicate this with certain fonts, but with others when I get to the "ADD" step (at 0.32 time stamp) it fills in the middle of closed letters such as the letter "O" or "P". Does this just have to do with what font I'm using?

I considert this a very good tutorial; in most cases the tutors enjoy too much to hear theyr voices, living only a bit of time (25/40%) to the actual teaching.
The speed can be ajusted by means of the "setting" icon located at the bottom right, therefore it is easy to follow step-by-step any action.
