I remember reading about Drizzt in high school. My good friend who has long since passed would debate the Drizzt vs Entreri question over and over. Salvatore has created a character that belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of Fantasy.

Around 15 years ago, I was in a dark place in my life. No job, family in ruins, and going to group therapy. Someone in the group gave me a copy of The Ghost King and Gauntylgrim to borrow after I made an off hand comment about always wanting to try D&D. Drizzt caught my attention almost instantly and I was hooked. Over the following years I started from the beginning and read my way through the main line Drizzt novels. This series helped me through that dark time, giving me the hope to keep going. My life is still not where I wish it could be, but I am much better off now. Drizzt gave me hope.

At one point in The Thousand Orc War. Drizzt acquired a Drow Spidersilk shirt that protected him from piercing and slashing attacks. I don't think Salvatore has mentioned it since, but in my mental picture of Drizzt, he's always got it under his tunic. He now wears a Piwafwi that Jaraxle gave him, but the green cloak is more iconic.

One of my favorite stories of Drizzt is from the book Realms of Valor, its a collection of short stories. The Dark Mirror is the one featuring him. If you haven't read it definitely go find it.

After Drizz't time at the Monestary of the Yellow Rose, he is instructed by Grand Master Kane to use the bracers of speed on his arms since he can run just as fast without them after his training with the Grand Master.

What got me intersted in Drizzt was Balder's Gate: Dark Alliance on Nintendo Gamecube. Once you beat the game, you unlocked Drizzt. The only missile attack he gets in Otiluke's Frozen Sphere; not exactly cannon, and not very useful against a white dragon. In the game's sequel, Balder's Gate: Dark Alliance II, beating the game unlocks Drizzt, and beating it on Extreme unlocks Artemis Entreri.

I only recently given up on my hope that Drizzt would start worshiping Eilistraee. Strictly a personal opinion but Drizzt breaks a D&D rule. He has two ranger sub classes. Hunter and Beastmaster. Along with Battlemaster fighter and Kensei or Open Hand monk. Could this be a suggestion for a future video? What classes have Drizzt held over the years.
