The Substance was too unhinged for THIS studio!

I think either you love this movie or think it’s stupid. IMO best movie of 2024

This was the most unique and shocking movie I’ve seen in years. I absolutely loved it. Cant stop thinking about it

For me personally, this movie was a great eye-opener in self-love and acceptance. I know most people might watch it for the gore, but for me, it was about the internal conflict that everyone experiences throughout their life journey as they get older.

Watching this in the theatres with other people made the last 30minutes that much more fun and enjoyable.
People were laughing, gagging, cringing, clapping and cheering all at the same time.
One of the best films i've seen all year

Major movie studios are so used to pumping out guaranteed billion dollar blockbusters, that they have no spine left. They hate taking chances. This film was so good. I had to watch it twice already and It's definitely in my fave horror films now ❤

This movie is why I love horror. It's a safe space to go through all the emotions of facing your fears. This movie was about the fear of aging, being replaced, not being sure of who are you anyway, and how comfy are you with societies beauty standards?

I LOVED this. It has been a long time since I've watched a film like this. Bravo!

I didn't walk out. I just had my hands in front of my mouth in disbelief in the last 30 minutes haha. It was ah-mazing! Both actresses should be nominated for the Oscars, but I doubt it would happen, with a body horror movie, sadly.

That is the most accurate statement you will be thinking about this film for a long time after you watch it

It's a cross between the fly, elephant man, the shinning, Carrie and something else I can't put my finger on 😂❤

I cried so much watching this movie. I feel very lost in my life right now and this was NOT a film I should have been watching - but I went in completely blind, so I can't blame myself too much.

A very unique idea..
They did an absolutely amazing job, the cinematography, the vfx effects, the writing was all impeccably done. I loved it. It was wild and crazy. A movie inspired by the common issue, being beautiful. That’s what makes it different than other movies for me.

This film is the most bold and daring film of this decade by far. It's a must see for anyone who loves Cronenberg, Kubrick, Tarantino or anyone who just wants to see Demi Moore in the role of a lifetime... I smell an Oscar nomination for her for this film for sure... If she doesn't get one, something's wrong with Hollywood which would probably just give credence to the films concept about women over 50 and their "you stuff stopping" as Dennis Quaid says between gobs of shrimp cocktail.. In this case careers, but this is such a daring and bold film I think once word of mouth spreads this will become the breakout sleeper hit of the Fall/Winter 2024 season... I know it was for me!

Here’s an equation for you:

David Cronenberg style direction + Demi Moore reflecting on her 90s career × a theme about the abuse of performance/psychoactive drugs + a vibe like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde × the climax of Akira^Perfect Blue

Put them all together and what do you get? No seriously, I’m asking….
