Slavic soups are so satisfying and warming during the winter. I also make a vegan żurek and highly recommend trying cesnačka - slovak creamy garlic soup.

Another wholesome soup is hungarian gulyásleves - my grandma used to make this for me with dehydrated soy chunks and vegan sausage. It's very different to what Americans call goulash.

I'm actually Polish and forgot that this soup existed. It was usually made with some kind of meat broth, that's why I stopped eating it. But now I can make it myself B)

Is fermented sour cucumber the same as pickles in English?

Why do you temper the sour cream? I thought that was for stuff with egg in it to prevent it from scrambling.
