in Russia/Ukraine there is a very similar soup called rassolnik. it has pickles, potatoes, barley, carrots, onions, dill, and it’s served with sour cream on top. it’s very popular as a hangover soup. i’m fact, you’ll find many russian recipes that include pickles. we eastern europeans love our pickles😆

I’ve hated the taste of pickles my whole life but every time I see a good recipe for them I still want to give it a try because I always think one day I’ll find the perfect way for me to tolerate and maybe love it lol so far only fried pickles have come close
