This is scarily similar to my dad’s story. He had a catastrophic brain stem stroke, and the “doctors” in the ER said that he had an ear infection and a panic attack. That left him with locked-in syndrome after he woke up from his coma. He had to live life unable to move anything voluntarily except his eyes for 4 years because of those doctors not taking him seriously, and it ultimately ended his life. For some reason, strokes are severely under diagnosed, so if you, or someone you know, start feeling or acting really drunk without having had any sort of drugs or alcohol, try smiling and waving. If you can only move one side of your face or only one arm, GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!!! If someone there tries to tell you that nothing is wrong, demand a second opinion, and if that doctor says the same thing, get a third. Doctors are not gods. They don’t know everything, so, while you should normally trust them, don’t if you KNOW something is seriously wrong, and they’re saying there’s not. You know your body best, and you always need to be ready to advocate for yourself in a medical setting. I don’t ever want another person to have to go through what my family, Alan’s family, Alan, and my father went through. Please stay safe, and always fight for your voice to be heard when your body, your mind, and potentially your life, are on the line.🖤
