In theory it looks like the equation makes sense, but it's not really logical.
In the real world, it's not the quantity of traffic but also the quality. You can bring millions of poor people without money to the store and sales will still be the same. And in this case no matter what you change inside your store or the upselling/cross selling techniques you use, you will suddenly have a conversion rate (CR) of almost zero.
Or on the other hand, if the quantity of traffic remains unchanged, but you bring other kind of people with money, then without doing nothing else to the store, the CR can even double, and so your total sales.
