The dishwasher legs are designed to be raised so there isn't a gap at the top needing a filler and the kickplate is designed to make up the space below. It looks like you didn't raise the dishwasher at all. It looked like a good install except for the gap. Good news is you can still raise the dishwasher to install it correctly.

Nice video, thank you for posting it. It appears that the kickplate has a lot of free play; did you consider putting a piece of flooring (like plywood) under the dishwasher to raise it up? If yes, then you could move the kickplate down to cover it and then you would be able to screw the dishwasher in at the top. Just wondering.

You can probably make a Safety panel made of wood to put above the dishwasher to keep small ones out of the space that is left open due to the dishwasher being shorter then your old one.

Is that a copper water supply line going to the old dishwasher? How does one tell if the copper pipe is flexible enough for the dishwasher to be pulled out before getting disconnected?

I spent about 10 hours trying to repair my dishwasher. its 18 years old. This is something I feel like I can do myself but Im going to have the delivery guys or a plumber install. I dont want the headache honestly.

Thank you. I came across your video after I installed the same model In which I experienced the same issues. Good to know I was not the only person who expected this process to take an hour but of course it was designed so much different from the Samsung I removed: hose bigger, wire bracket missing, tucking the wires into wiring box not fun, couldn’t easily adjust the front leveling feet. 5 hours later it’s in! I don’t like the looks of it, but It’s working with zero leaks so cheers 🥂 to us getting the job done! Also I’m disappointed to read that I shall expect to see rusting of the interior, wow, can’t win. This model wasn’t even cheap, that’s unacceptable LG.

Why didn’t you just put a piece of plywood down so the washer was level with the floor.? Then there wouldn’t have been an issue with the top brackets.
