It's a bit weird to see so much complaining about the price. When the oneplus 5t came out everyone hailed it as the best budget phone, but this phone blows it out of the water. SD card support, dual front cameras and ip68 water and dust resistance. Not to forget the samsung amoled screen. This phone is the real budget dream, even the build quality is superior. So I don't see what all the complaining is about, it's literally 1 dollar more than the oneplus 5t. For 1 dollar more you get a better device, from one of the best electronics brands worldwide.

I'm a bit late catching up on this but I've had the A8 for almost 2 years now and I really really like it. Since it recently updated to the Android 9 pie I've had a few issues but all in all I really like it, I was thinking of upgrading but I think I'll hold off for awhile as my A8 is still performing beautifully. I have to say I really like your reviews you're very informative and you're great to listen to. So keep up the great work cause I look forward to your next reviews.

Just picked up one of these as a backup phone/music device for £60 off Amazon.
Absolutely love it and would definitely recommend even now as a going on 6 year old phone.

Bought my A5 2017 as a christmas gift. I wanted to wait for the A8, but looks like the A5 fits me pretty well. And it's also 200 euros cheaper, and it still has amazing build, display, battery, performance, good cameras and water resistance.

I'm currently using a blue mist color of Samsung Galaxy A7 2017
And i'm really pleased with it
I think i'll stick to it for a couple of more years

I'm still using this phone since 2018. I have butter fingers....Dropped it from heights and the screen did not even crack! Extremely durable. The casing is too slippery for me... The back cover did but it was an internal crack thus does not affect usage. The UI is fast but it is starting to have problems now. Battery is fine charges fast but can't last an entire day with heavy usage. Only thing I did not like was the camera, feels meh. Overall value for money given it was in good working condition for 4 years.

This phone isn't for people buying phones outright. This is for consumers like my Dad who go on contract when they need a phone, but don't want to pay the high rate plans that the flagships demand. My Dad got this phone on a two year contract, here in Canada, because it meant the difference between a $70 plan and a $100 plan. The phone is actually quite good.

It just shows how much of a rip off the carriers are, but that's another story.

At the same price, would you recommend the A8 or the S8? Flagship is better, but is already 9 months old... also I heard the S8 breaks easily?
