Samsung Galaxy A8(2018) in 2024 - Still Worth It?

One of the best midranges ever from Samsung is the Galaxy A8(2018).
Like the name suggests this device came in 2018 as a cheaper alternative for the Galaxy S8.
I remember when I first got this device I was stunned by the build quality of it even though it wasn't a flagship.
I posted many videos for this device and they are some of the most popular videos of this channel.
This just shows me that this phone is still very popular.

I had been and still am a faithful owner of the Galaxy A8 since 2019. It wont have any issues as long as it runs mundane stuff like listening to music or watching videos. So keeping it at a minimum will beneficial to the phone as well as the battery life. I could get by 1 whole day by doing just that.

I am still using mine and it holds good till today. I have the A8 plus 64/6GB version. Good specs as per it's time, excellent built and display quality can't be seen these days.

I used to own this phone, the A8 2018, i gave it to my dad six months ago. I made some changes to it; I polished the mid-frame to shiny silver and replaced the back glass with a golden one. It looks awesome now, and I love the fingerprint sensor. It's way more reliable than his previous Samsung A5 2016.

I think My A8 phone for 7 years is now signing off😢.. I love it its so sturdy even after several drops on the floor.. Unfortunately its now getting moisture error even if it didnt get wet and no dust as well

I have this phone. I use it as a Bluetooth radio at work, so I don't havetl to use my main driver. It lags a lot, but it is a perfect radio or music player 👍

Recenlty swapt the battery but still holds very limited battery capacity. 4 GB ram is not enough and I cannot run games efficiently. thinking of using it for another 6 months or so before an upgrade

What was said about the performance and battery life is very much true. However, both are mostly problems in the current day, my battery used to last much longer and the applications tended to be lighter when the phone was brand new.

About the SD card expansion slot... ho-ly-shit... I guess it's on me for being incurious. What made me almost not buy this phone more than 6 years ago was "the lack of an SD slot" (what the salesman told me). Since I slapped this baby in a case as soon as I got it, and I only half-paid attention when getting it out for cleaning, I never noticed that there were 2 push-out cradles for cards, I thought there was only 1 for a SIM card!

I had a a8 last year it was awesome but it didn't have a lot of storage so I upgrated to a Samsung Galaxy a14 5g it has a lot of storage but it's sooo laggy so I really want a a8
