I am a german and I am watching an american host with an american show who has been in germany to be a guest in a german talk show who is talking english but dubbed for germans to german dubbed back to english for the original show so I have to translate all for myself into german. What an inception.

That body guard must be an absolute GIANT! He's taller than Conan and seems much less lanky!

It's a secret German challenge: Stop laughing and pretent to be humourless when an American or Englisman is around. Once they are gone Germans burst out in laughter.

I hope Conan continues his “Conan Without Borders” even after his talk show ends.

Cologne is an ANCIENT city. It was founded by the Romans.

“I’ve got two wonderful guests.”
“And I’m coming on third?”

23 Years later, I still remember the "After Shaven" joke.

The first two minutes of this, feel like todays COVID-Cologne. Empty boats and restaurants. :(

Cologne is not medieval, its actually 2000 years old (yes as old as Christianity) and Cologne as for parfume comes from the city name Cologne, because it was invented there "Kölnisch Wasser" (Cologne water).

The Harald Schmidt Show really wasn‘t as copied as it may appear in this bit. Humor and style is way different. It‘s just as copied as every late night format.

The bodyguard looks like a less weird version of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Wow, Conan survived the great Frida, Schozi, Seza, and Laozhiliza. Mad respect for the man for not getting beat up by them.

The first thing that comes to my mind: "showing pictures of Cologne with music from Bavaria". We hate that xD

Harald Schmidt is a legend on his own here in Germany.

the music is just soooo wrong. The next time we germans make a clip about Los Angeles, we'll put Empire State of Mind in it.

I love Harald and Conan equally, for me this is like a surreal Marvel/DC Crossover

It's incredible how long Conan has been around doing his show. This was being filmed when I was less than a year old.

The Harald Schmidt Show initially stole heavily from Conan and Letterman.
But especially during the first season. At that time they didn't really know what they were doing and just did things "that have already worked".
After that, they found their own style and sense of humor and got pretty good honestly.
