I find Flula pretty witty. What he is able to do (which seems to annoy a lot of German commenters I've read) is play fast and loose with English words and grammar. But he does it in a completely understandable and comedic way. And to be able to do that, he has to have absolute command of English (which, of course, he does).

"Open mouth. Insert Romance" is going to be the next hottest pick-up line.

It is interesting how Flula locks eye contact with whoever he is speaking to. He has a very charming personality.

let me tell you guys,
I went to berlin germany and stayed in hostels (shared bunks) with locals and foreigners,

I've met and hungout with germans from villages (not what you think, these villages are modern, just very quiet)

1. yes they really do like to go on walks early in the morning, early is a matter of perspective, its just morning to them, and it is actually a pretty nice time of day to walk around town
1a. you will be invited in such a way, it would feel rude not to go, so of course you go...you realize its oddly quiet so you try to spark up some conversation,
1b. there isnt much to talk about here, enjoy seeing things, trees, buildings, they just respond to everything with "oh look at this tree" "this building is owned by this person" etc

ofcourse not all germans are like this, especially city raised people, this is a global thing though

2. bread. everywhere. bread. gas stations bake their own bread fresh (i only ever found like one gas station in berlin, its not common to own a vehicle, the cost of living is so low its just more convenient walk/bus, they could buy cars, but they wouldnt have anywhere to put them) the bread was pretty great actually, food was abundant and pretty affordable

3. every time i said id never had a beer before people would laugh at me, i had some beer in berlin

4. he pulled out broccoli in this video. yes. ive noticed germans will snack on raw fruits and veggies often, their food is considered bland by most foreigners living there, described as "so healthy i cant eat it" but germans also have pretty good cooked foods too,

4a. i asked locals about germany cooking history, they mostly just said they lost all the recipes in the war,
4b. Germans dont like to talk about war, i didnt ask further when they said they lost it in the war. for obvious reasons they are trying to move on from that kind of stuff, you could find jewish memorials across the entire city, aside from that they really really do not like war in general there, very progressive place when it comes to activism especially involving nature and protecting lower income people.

i could go on about german stereotypes but i just wanted to share, flula seems to make his american act based on sharing what *modern* german culture is like, if you like flula, you probably like germany :)

*On a Flula binge! Love how Conan and Flula harmonize. And how Conan recognizes Flula’s smarts and charisma and made him a regular on the show!*

I'd love to see a TV series with Flula and Nathan Fielder. It would be fun to see their interactions and the reactions of the people they meet.

No one in Germany has ever heard of Flula Borg. For some reason, he keeps popping up on American late night shows.

He seems to take his cues on how Americans expect Germans to be from Corporal Schultz of Hogan's Heroes.

He's sadly correct, "Bauer sucht Frau" was fairly successful - "Farmer seeking woman"
