So tinea versicolor also called as piyriasis versicolor. So you have two types in it, one is hypopigmented and one is hyperpigmented.

I noticed I have had little white patches in the center of my left forearm when I was 10 years old. That slowly spread in the same area. When I was about 17 or 18 years old I started to see the patches spreading to my upper arms. The progress is only upwards until I’m in my mid 20s. When I was about 26 or 27 years white patches started moving from center of my forearm towards my fingers excluding my fingers mostly my hand but small portion of my palm lighter patches than my skin color. Around 28, 29 I started to loose a lot hair. Noticed that patches growing up to my shoulder to neck and left side of my chest close to upper arm and also left side of my head. The growth wasn’t wide spread instead narrow. I’m 35 now but I’ve patches all over my hand and upper arm and half of head(left side) and also my face(on the left side). My scalp is itching me so bad. Lost a lot of hair on the left. When I shave my scalp, the next couple of days itching me like crazy. Ive used after shave treatments for long time but it is good only for couple hours to 1 day then start itching again even after applying it. I’ve also used anti fungal and Anti dandruff, ketoconazole shampoo, hydrocortisone including apple cider vinegar with some other home remedies to name few but no effect so far. I’ve been hospital few times in the past but I was told this doesn’t have any side effect despite the fact it is spreading. The doctor prescribed hydrocortisone cream to apply but that didn’t stop the patches from spreading. I hope there is treatment for white patches
