White spots on face in winter is especially because of dryness. So commonly in this type of patches happen in children when compared to adults, because after puberty there is sebaceous secretion and this prevents excessive dryness. Whereas in kids before puberty the oil activity is not so prominent and hence they are more prone for dry skin, especially in a climate like Bangalore where the humidity is very less. So the dryness and the patches can happen all throughout they era. So one simple way to control this is to keep the skin hydrated. So how do we do that? Before bath for children apply coconut oil and then give bath and when you are giving bath don’t use a harsh soap or a body bath. Use something milder and keep it hydrated. When you are giving bath don’t use very hot water. Sometimes in winter we are tempted to give very hot water and by doing this thee is excessive dryness and the dryness becomes aggravated and hence use lukewarm water and after that apply moisturizers.

I get white spots all over my forehead that keeps coming every year ( specially from January to May) and goes on its own after few months. Also the skin of affected area keeps peeling and appears as cracks due to dryness, sometimes itches too. But I assumed it is caused by exposure to either sun or dust as it gets worse when I go out.
