“Jurassic World: Dominion” has hit theaters, and if the initial box office is any indication, the love of all things dinosaurs remains strong with movie-going audiences. And with each new movie release in the seminal franchise, the question of cloning dinosaurs once again comes to the forefront of everyone’s imagination.

The thought of having giant prehistoric creatures roaming the earth is an exciting thought. It’s no wonder then that basically everyone is fascinated by the possibility of seeing dinosaurs walk amongst us again. But DNA is a complicated thing and so is cloning for that matter. Scientists have spent decades researching the best way to bring back extinct species. But the question remains: Is it actually possible to clone dinosaurs?

Would you want to see a return of dinosaurs if it were possible?

it is possible, to bring back dinosaurs using bird DNA but that will only bring back dinosaurs in the coelurosauria subgroups, so the only dinosaurs you can bring back are Raptors, Therizinosaurs, Oviraptors, Deinocheirus, Dromaeosaurus, the Troodontids, the Ornithomimids, and the Tyrannosaurids will be the only dinosaurs you'll see brought back, and the biggest dinosaur you can bring back using bird DNA is the T Rex itself. and all the birds on earth all evolved from the coelurosaurs, it means that birds ARE coelurosaurs. the coelurosaurs success is also led to the extinction of the carnosaurs, such as Allosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Spinosaurus, Carnotaurus, Siats, Saurophaganax, Carcharodontosaurus, Mapusaurus, etc. all the carnosaurs went extinct millions of years before the coelurosaurs started taking over, to becoming the ultimate land predators of all time. So in the end using bird DNA to bring back the dinosaurs, will only bring back the coelurosaurs, yes you will see T Rex, Tarbosaurus, and Zuchengtyrannus being brought back to life, but you'll be seeing them as the only mega predators you could bring back with bird DNA.

I don't think we should call it clone, its more like revive😗🙌

i think scientists should go ahead with the chickenosaurus project since if we do so we will be able to learn more about evolution and can learn more about atavisms and some causes to explain the people with tails and loads of hair

We stand a much better chance of cloning the woolly mammoth, but it's a problematic proposition. Even though we have the technology and almost perfectly preserved mammoth DNA, that doesn't mean that it would be possible for a clone to survive past the beginning stages of cellular division.

It would be grate to see a living Trex.

Eventually it will be able to do so. I think eventually science will be able input the DNA code into a computer program that will allow it to fully develope. It has been shown that already that DNA can reproduce images of people with only DNA.

Simple answer: No we can’t.
Hope that helps.

1 thing no-one ever mentions…
Oxygen levels has dropped, so they will not be able to breath…

using a Computer to assemble what a Dinosaur looks like & match it with Genetic Traits from existing animals, Crocodiles, Alligators, Turtles, Birds. Monitor Lizards etc.

There's a Russian scientist who wants to bring back the Mammoth Steppe. Could it be possible to back breed elephants to create a woolly mammoth like the Heck brothers did when they tried to recreate horses and cattle?

Yes, birds evolved from dinosaurs, but dinosaurs are still referred as reptiles, which can be cloned.

I Honestly Think So! BUT, SHOULD WE?! I DON'T THINK, THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA!!!! SOME IDIOT, WOULD WEAPONIZE IT, IN NO TIME AT

We can't even treat the animals we have left with respect.

If the cloned dinosaurs are paleo-accurate (unlike in most pop culture stuff and clickbait "paleontology" videos) and were ethically and responsibly created, then I'd support this project! ^_^

As much as we wish we could actually clone dinosaurs to be alive again, think about how dinosaurs would eventually roam the earth again like they did 65 million years ago and this time they would decrease the human population significantly

Dinosaurs would be hard to make if it might be possible

they can put DNA from other animals to recreate dino's
