Use L3 for Jump. Circle stops momentum.

I've made it with circle before, but I just couldn't do it in my more recent playthrough, so I switched to L3 and it was so much easier. There's an extra delay before starting to fall after jumping, like you said. Definitely sticking with this jumping control from now on.

Remember, folks, in DS2 your fall damage is directly affected by your equip load. Heavier character = drastically higher fall damage. Removing at least your armor, and at best your weapons and armor, will help you survive some high falls that'd kill you otherwise.

For anyone struggling, you need to change the jump key to LS instead of B. For some reason, B gives a shorter jump

Took few deaths, but I got it. Was wearing life ring + blue seal + ring of binding and 20 vigor -- naked, otherwise. I wanted the twinkling titanites to get my Old Whip to +4 (still need 4 more to get +5).

Still works July 2023 - took a while to learn jump attack to get on the ledge, but only took 6 tries to actually make the jump

Believe it or not i did it on my first try when i discovered that and with no cat ring

This still works just in case someone was still wondering. I personally just had to take off everything except the cats ring. I also had to go farther back than showed in the video. It looked as if there wasn’t a floor under me so just to keep that in note

angling is everything.. take the camera exactly where the head is before the second jump (2+ hours)
