Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab retinal prosthetics tech offers blind patients a new outlook! JHUAPL is working with Second Sight to enhance the Argus II retinal prosthesis, which consists of a head-mounted camera, electrode array and vision processing system. Since then, APL researchers have made significant advances in adapting new kinds of sensors and computer vision algorithms to enhance the use of the prosthesis.

Project Manager Kapil Katyal, of APL’s National Health Mission Area, gives a talk on the Second Sight technology and vision-processing hardware. (originally recorded July 2017)
