In this video, I'm suggesting an alternative to Athletic Greens, a proposed performance-enhancing food supplement that's been positioned to help athletes achieve their health and fitness goals.

Athletic Greens / AG1 is a food supplement that contains antioxidants, probiotics, and other essential nutrients. In this video, I will break down Athletic Greens and explain if it's worth buying (through the eyes of a Performance nutritionist).

Not gonna lie, I thought you were going to have product alternatives to my AG1.

Found you via your AG1 video keep it up.
For the comment section. Eat more fruits and vegetables in every way possible; shakes, snacks, condiments, sides etc.
Supplement your fiber and use a third party tested multivitamin.

Tip for fiber: buy large package of mixed nuts. Unsalted. Toss them in a blender until it's a nice crumble. Bit like coarse chucky sand. But nor so long it starts lumping too much. Put in a Tupperware box to keep it good.

Now toss those delicious, crumbled nuts on everything! Oats with blueberries in the morning? Add crumble! Slice up a banana with some quark? Add crumble! Smoothy? ADD CRRUMMBLLLEEE! <3

Amazingly helpful video! As a student physiotherapist I've struggled conceptualize how nutrition and nutritional products are impacting health and recovery, especially post-injury. Your videos have been a huge help to me in growing my understanding, so thank you for all your hard work!!

Bryan Johnson is going to release his « super veggie » in powder form

Can’t wait to watch your analysis review on this

Great breakdown again, Adam - loving these new videos. Like you said, there are lots of cheaper alternatives for people that absolutely hate vegetables, but the taste and effectiveness is always questionable.

Just found your channel. Really like the no fluff approach. Would be interested to see a video on Chlorella as an alternative to a greens mix powder. Obviously with a single ingredient you can ensure you have an effective dose and only have 1 ingredient to ensure is well sourced and 3rd party tested.

Honestly crazy how a bunch of people watch a video saying not to spend $100/month on "magic" supplements and then go... "ok what are the real magic supplements?"

Goes to show you the power of marketing and how it makes people feel like they need things that were invented less than 100 years ago.

If you want to make massive impacts on all areas of your health, be it physical, emotional, your relationships, psychological, etc. spend $100/month going to salsa dancing class, meeting new people, learning real tangible things, gaining confidence, etc.

I guarantee you'll feel way better than any supplement. Insert whatever you want into salsa

Nice! After your last video I was wondering is there was an alternative and here you are with the video.

Appreciate the video. I'm an AG1 subscriber and saw your last video after wondering if it was all it promises to be. Still looking for that holy grail tub o' nutrients--even after your video today(no disrespect, just wondering why someone can't come up with something or if I'm missing something already out there). I fall in the "no time to eat therefore worried about malnutrition" camp. Not a good camp to be in when training for Ironmans, Ultramarathons, and 200+ mile bike races.

Lots of stores like amazon list Greens Powders in the Spirulina section. Would you say that it's the main component of these products?

Although not seriously I have been wondering about AG1 or possibly a cheaper greens supplement with similar stuff in it. But this is an excellent analysis and has made up my mind to just try and eat better stuff. The only problem is that Andrew Huberman swears by AG1 and I pretty much swear by Andrew Huberman so my entire world has been thrown upside down!

Could you do a video on Vega- the one with greens and protein? I have been looking for one with both, but wasn’t sure if this was a good one!

So I've used AG1 for almost a year, and I felt better on it, my skin looked healthier, recovery from workouts was better, digestion was better, ... blood markers also improved (Liver enzymes, blood lipids).
I decided then, that maybe it was all just coincidence/in my head so decided to take a break from it.
My skin worsened again, got sick twice in one month (didn't get sick at all during my AG1 spell) and my digestion worsened. Been feeling more rundown as well.

This is obviously just anecdotal, so take it for what it's worth. I think too many people shit on the product without giving it an actual try for any length of time.
Edit: and just to state this as well, I eat relatively healthy, I eat fruits and veg daily, healthy fats from daily avocado/omega 3 supplement, ... I exercise daily (hybrid: 8 hours cardio per week, 3-4 hours strength/week)

Adam, you AG videos are awesome. I’m a problem solver and have a condition where I can’t eat most fruits and vegetables. I’ve been looking into these greens powders to help, but ag seems like a no go. How would I go about even creating a framework to start solving my problem, when eating almost anything is problematic?

What do you think about Drum Stick Powder (moringa)? What’s best dosage and is it better to take in leaves, stick, or the seed powder?
