That will only work for a few minutes before your body heat starts radiating through. Especially if the environment around you is much cooler. Good thermal cams can see where you’ve walked for a bit after, just from the short time you’re in contact with the ground, assuming your shoes have been on a while and are warm. One of my early jobs was designing thermal imagers.
