I learned a lot of this stuff a long time ago, so it's second nature to actually do it, but I forget how to explain what it is that I'm doing, and Mr. Woo's explaining ability is worth learning from.

Sir why x^2 +1/x is a not a polynomial

Why in definition of polynomial we take only positive power of a variable why we not say for any power of x it become a polynomial.
Please tell me sir
