We travel to Shanghai, China for the first time. This travel vlog are our first impressions of Shanghai, the largest city in China. Honestly, Shanghai is not at all what we expected. This is our experience as a British / Russian travellers in Shanghai, China in autumn 2024. Join is as we explore different areas of the Shanghai, China, from the famous Bund to People's Square, and from the French Concession area, to YuYuan Gardens!
This is the 1st day of a 3 month trip through China, as we explore and try understand this undiscovered country, from Shanghai, down to Yunnan Province, north to Xian and finally towards Beijing.

I was in China for 10 days at the begging of September during my summer holidays, and Shanghai was the first city I visited. I will never forget the first time I saw the Oriental Pearl. Early evening, a little drizzle, very hot and humid and the skyline was in the clouds. Pictures and videos do not do this place justice. It's otherworldly beautiful. Watching your lovely video I realized how much I miss Shanghai. Hopefully I'll go back next year because I've decided to spend my summer holidays in China from now on (if God wants). I love Shanghai, I was there in 2018. The people are so friendly and so much to see. I wish I could have explored more but I was staying and having to work in Pudong for a short while. My elementry school was next to that church in people square 38 years ago. I can still remember the sound of that bell. and yes, we do have a half day school on Saturday.

Haha, many people think that a large Chinese city like Shanghai, with its huge population, would be very crowded and noisy, like Southeast Asian cities filled with the rumble of motorcycles and gasoline-powered vehicles. However, when they actually arrive in Shanghai, they find that everything is quite quiet. The streets are filled with electric vehicles that make very little noise and have zero emissions, which means they don’t pollute the air. I’ve seen too many foreign YouTubers surprised by the calm atmosphere in Shanghai.
