Ambrosia Salad recipe that is tasty and refreshing on a hot summer day

Learn to make an "Ambrosia Salad" with Debbie Quick from Debs Creative Images.

Ingrediants:

8 ounces sour cream
8 ounces cool whip
8 ounces fruit cocktail (canned)
8 ounces pineapple tidbits (canned)
8 ounces mandarin oranges (canned)
8 ounces peach chunks (canned)
1 jar cherries
1/2 bag miniature marshmallows
1/2 bag coconut flakes
Instructions:

Drain all fruit in a colander. In a mixing bowl add cool whip and sour cream and mix together. Once it is well mixed add fruit (save a few cherries for the top), marshmallow’s, and coconut flakes, and mix well. Add cherries on the top, cover and put in the fridge for an hour. Serve cold.

I pretty much make this every year but don’t add coconut, I add chopped walnuts instead.

I don't think I could bring myself to throw away all that juice from the canned fruit.

I would save the juices and make a fruit punch.Throwing the juices down the sink is a waste!

OK, so I go along with everything except that sour cream.There is no chance that I put sour cream into my ambrosia salad.I want it to be sweet crisp and without the bitter taste.But if somebody likes it, that's good, but that's how my mother got me to stop eating ambrosia salad was to add sour cream to it and Maine's never never would I do that?But the recipe looks good.Just god please don't put sour cream in your ambrosia
