So today we're making Ambrosia Salad. Also known as Marshmallow Fruit Salad. I never made this recipe or tried this recipe and after recently seeing A recipe for this, I knew I had to try this. And man let me tell you...It was delicious. Fluffy, sweet, airy, fruity. Crunch from the pecans, snap from the pineapple. Sweetness from the cool whip, tangy from the sour cream. I was into it face deep.
Ingredients for Ambrosia Salad (Marshmallow Fruit Salad):
1- 11oz Can Mandarin Oranges, Drained.
1- 14oz Can Pineapple Tidbits, Drained.
1- 15oz Can Fruit Cocktail, Drained.
1/2 Cup Halved Grapes.
1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans.
3 Cups Mini Marshmallows, Fruit or Plain.
1/2 Cup Sour Cream.
1 1/2 Cup Cool Whip.

Lol. I was 3. Making this salad. Its called pink fluff. We keep all liquids from drained cans. Heat it up and thicken it with cornstarch. To the fruit it goes. When liquid cools down. We use walnuts no pecans. And add canned pears. And one sliced banana. Mix it good. Fridge overnite. It is really good.

They key is to whip the sour cream and whipped topping together with about some more powdered sugar till fluffy. Then fold in your fruit.

Ok thanks I’m making this in a few days my daughter coming for Christmas I am seeing all these recipes saying sour cream I was worried but your face at the end gave me a sigh of relief ❤ can’t wait to try it but the store shelves empty like no marshmallows especially mini so with the big ones it is what it is. Also just made mine added cup of sweet coconut flakes now the men in the family love pecans but I chocolate chip cookies with nut and Christmas crack with them as well so mamma can have one thing made with no crunch 😊 happy holidays 🎄☃️💚❤️

Try using fresh summer berries, fresh Mandarins, crushed pineapple, fresh whipped cream, honey/vanilla Greek yoghurt instead of sour cream and add dark chocolate chips instead of pecans. As a kiwi we eat this all the time in the summer...
