How to Connect Sentry Mini to iPad | ForeFlight VFR Beginner #1

How to connect a Sentry Mini to an iPad and ForeFlight. I am a beginner ForeFlight user and I wanted to create a series of short videos showing how I use ForeFlight for VFR flying. The first video of this ForeFlight VFR Beginner series shows the steps needed to connect a Sentry Mini to an iPad, then how to confirm that the Sentry Mini is connected to the iPad by using ForeFlight.

I am a VFR pilot and I use ForeFlight for GPS, ADS-B In, weather, checklists, and more. The Sentry Mini provides me the data needed to have aircraft GPS and ADS-B In capabilities so that I can view other aircraft.

I have a noncellular iPad. The Sentry mini connects via WiFi, but does it deliver an Internet connection to my iPad? Or is it just for the sake of the connection between the devices? Should I get Sentury plus because it says it has a Wi-Fi client?

Does it have gps position or it’s just ads b receiver? If I want to fly I need a garmin gps Bluetooth antenna like glo2 and this sentry ads b receiver or this sentry has both i mean can I navigate with that or just to see other aircrafts in foreflight

great video. Just a tip, if you put a little square of Velcro on the battery and a little piece on the window rail it will stay there nicely and you wont have to have it in your lap.

Can i just turn Sentry on and connect with power bank then leave it in the pocket. Will it work or it need to be put it specific area to locate a signal?
