Wild Camping with Budget Lightweight Hiking Tent: Lanshan 2 - Think I Might be in Love! 😍

Показать описание
My first wild camp with the Lanshan 2 lightweight hiking tent… oh man, I think I love it! 350g heavier all-in than the Pro-1, but that lil bit of extra weight gives loads of extra room, 2 layers instead of 1 to separate me from the condensation, 2 doors and 2 huge vestibules. I don’t foresee having any random flooding issues with this either, but I will have to test it out in some heavy rain to be sure of course. I took this tent on my next lil backpacking trip; 2 nights in the Rhinogs - next on the editing pile :D

Thank you so much for watching 😊 Much love, Claire 🌿🐻

I just got this tent this season. For the money it’s well made and does not leak in heavy rains. Interior stayed bone dry over several days of rain. I got it so I could camp with my collie boy Finn. If he puts a hole in this one and not my more expensive tent I won’t cry.

Steve is the reason I find your channel. I have recently lost someone close also, and yet again this year I find myself in tears. Love and light. 😓

When I'm stuck in the office and can't go outdoors, these kind of videos ease my longing for the nature-fix I regularly need. Thanks a bunch! :)

The call at 5:40 is a Roe doe call. Roe can bark in alarm but does also squeak like this especially during the rut (which winds down in August).

That be the call of a Little Owl… I did a falconry day a couple of years back and held the Little Owl amongst others - who was perched on my glove.
Sweet little things they are🦉

A two layer tent is a must in my book. Condensation can be just as bad as leaking on some trips. Plus it helps keep you warmer on those chilly nights. I happily will carry a little extra weight for better comfort, sleep, and less stress.

Feeling comfortable and safe in a reliable shelter with the added benefit of saving weight is a win win! May I say your pitch looks lovely. Gear what we do.

Hi Claire, my wife and I backpacked the Northumberland coastal path using the Lanshan 2. I can confirm it is absolutely superb and once pitched correctly (we used sand pegs), it was rock solid with loads of room for two of us. Had loads of rain and wind the first night the tent brushed it off with impunity.
Overall great value shelter, totally concur with your review
Another cracking vid, keep up the great work.

In 1980 ish I had a Vango mk365 mw (for microweight). Sold as a "transverse ridge". About 7'x4' with two huge (we called them porches then) . Two poles and a ridge pole.. Got to Cornwall on the train and found inexplicable left one pole behind . Made an emergency one from most of the ridge pole, and a skewer peg through the flysheet grommet!
Down to earth 4 season fly but velcro fold up flaps for ventilation when dry
Fabulous tent

I take two eggs for breakfast in a small bottle with a flatbread. ½ cook omelette and then drop the flatbread in on top before flipping over and adding grated cheese and chopped onion etc. sometimes a couple of rashers of bacon as well. A good start to the day and the pan wipes clean with a sheet of kitchen towel. A piece of tin foil makes a pan lid as can a foil baking tray.
