If anyone else is having trouble with the build-dh comand, and getting the following output:

Please source the vars script first (i.e. "source ./vars")
Make sure you have edited it to reflect your configuration.

you can solve this issue by running:
cd /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa
mkdir keys
./build-dh

how to set dns-crypt up since dns-crypt routes to a loopback address i keep getting leaks 'push "dhcp DNS x.x.x.x"' just dose not resolve anything : unless my setups a mess, i would tinker around but its vital i do this correct i dont want to misconfigure things

Not sure if someone else have encountered this, but when I try to create the certificates for the clients, I get the error message saying:
# source ./vars
# ./pkitool client-1
(...)
failed to update database
TXT_DB error number 2

Though, the certificate files are were created in the /keys directory... On the ubuntu forums, some suggest to do a ./clean-all, but then I will loose my certificates for the server side and I'll have to start all over again.

I guess this is to separate the client from the server?
Thanks for the reply

Wondering if you could help with getting me with my OpenVPN setup. My client hooks up, and I can see the network, and even remote desktop in. I cannot however access the client computer from the network. How would I go about getting this to work?

I cant find the files to copy across to the /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa directory help please? I even tried the find command. i had no errors upon install of openvpn. I am trying to set this up on my home server as a VM and i am using SSH; as VNC into a VM is a bit on the slow side. PS a bit new to the world of Ubuntu. but i like it thanks in advance. CLI rules!!

Hello. I have a question, the IP 192.168.10.50 at the minute 11:06, is that an IP for free VPN server within the United States?, or is it another server or what?. Thanks in advance.

I live in Suzhou next to Shanghai. At first, I used IKEV2 VPN, but it didn't work well, so I'm currently using Panda VPN's stealth method. I am using it to my satisfaction.. If v2 does not work, try steerlh. Openvpn = Stealth

Very confusing as to which server is the client and which the server and what their IPs are; why you created the SERVER credentials on the client and THEN copied them to the server I'll never understand; using "server" as a name was also confusing and you know that but still did it; you made a serious effort to explain well but the result was lacking at the end.
