Why does nobody use this weapon in Terraria? The Unholy Trident. In this video, I take a look at this post-mechanical boss powerful mage weapon which can be obtained from Red Devils in the underworld. It rarely gets talked about despite been in the game since Terraria 1.2, does it deserve more attention?

If you think about it, there is not a lot of reasons to go to the underworld post mechs. Of course in pre hardmode your going to visit it for shadow chests and such but in hardmode theres not much reward for going there.

You made a critical mistake though, the unholy trident can be dropped after just one mechanical boss has been defeated. The reason why it’s critical is because you could kill one mechanical boss and then defeat the others with the unholy trident

pretty sure you only have to defeat one mech boss for red devils to spawn, so you can actually some additional use by defeating the other two mech bosses with it

I mean, unholy trident is a good weapon, but having to deal with red devils in early hm is the worst experience ever 💀

The start of early hardmode is incredibly well designed overall, as theres a way to get good wepons from literally everything. Caving? Marrow, mimics, ore wepons. Fishing? Biome crate wepons. Killing? Goblin/pirate wepons. Exploring? Uzi in the jungle, ice blast in tundra, spirit flame in deser (correct me for that one). Upgrading? Sky fracture, megashark. Theres alot more weapons, and while you could argue that some are definitely weaker than others, its great how available the game makes hard mode weapons at a time when everything is killing you again.

Small mistake, you only need to defeat a single mechanical boss to begin spawning Red Devils, which makes them even easier to obtain.

Can you take a look at the Gatligator? It carried me through early hardmode and I honestly did not know it existed before hand.

I remember being little and seeing the red devil in the underworld, and knowing how you can get the demon book from a regular demon, I was determined to get the unholy trident. I did finally get it, and it was everything I could've imagined.

I've used the Unholy Trident a lot, and in spite of it's high mana usage(just use the Mana flower or Celestial cuffs) It's an incredible weapon to hang onto even post Plantera and fits perfectly if you are trying to go with an unholy/demonic theming for your loadout.

I remember when I went to the underworld for fun and a red devil randomly dropped a trident and I liked the weapon too :)
Also... Could it be possible to have a video on the ice rod? (The one that wizard sells) its so "dumb" but I love to use it! (Or the other ice wand would be nice to see)

I remember farming for this in my 1.4 mage playthrough, it melted Plantera and Duke but homing weapons are nicer because you can focus on dodging.

I recently did a mage playthrough and ended up getting one randomly. It was pretty good at mowing down random enemies, but I ended up using the rainbow rod for Plantera and the inferno fork for golem. Didn’t see that much use, but it was nice to have.

Honestly when I got mine it was incredibly useful and help me power through most of the game after I got it especially since the piercing ability was really good against enemies like Planterra and overall in my opinion I think it’s pretty underrated

its also the fact that metas get formed on which weapon peforms the best for each class. thus making it that a shit ton of weapons get over looked, even tho they can be viable
