Hey, I loved your video and was so confused until I found you. Thanks!!! I put a problem I was struggling with to see if you could some of these problems for IV Infusing. some Hour ones cause i couldn't find one to explain Iv Hour problems.

1.Order: Infuse cefazolin 1 g in 50 mL over 30 minutes. What is the quantity to administer in?

2.. A nurse calculates a client's total fluid intake during a 4-hour period. The client
consumes 2 cups of coffee, 8 oz of orange juice, 16 oz of water, 120 mL of broth, 1 cup of jello,
and 4 oz. ice cream. The nurse should record how many mL of intake on the client’s record?
(round the answer to the nearest whole number). Enter numeric value only. mL
Answer: 1680 or 1, 680
10. A nurse is calculating intake and output for a client during a 12-hour period: 7am – 7pm.
Calculate both using the following chart information: Enter numeric value only.
Intake:
IV fluids at 80 mL/hr from 7am – 3pm
300 mL packed red blood cells from 3pm – 5pm
IV fluids at 100 mL/hr from 5pm – 7pm
4 oz orange juice, 8 oz hot tea, 240 mL milk, 2 cups water
Output:
Foley Catheter: 1, 000 ml urine
Surgical Drain: 100 mL
Intake: mL
Answer: 1080 or 1, 080
Output: mL
Answer: 1100 or 1, 100


3. Order: Levofloxacin 750mg IV x1 Now for septicemia infused for over 30 minutes. Each ready to
hang bag contains Levofloxacin 750mg/100ml. Enter numeric value only.
What rate would the nurse program the IV pump?
Answer: 200

4. A patient has an order for a continuous IV infusion of Regular insulin at 10 units per hour for
a blood glucose level of 530 mg/dL. The insulin has a concentration of Regular insulin 200
units per 100 mL. How many milliliters per hour would the nurse infuse the insulin? Enter
numeric value only. ____ mL/hr

Hello prof, so is this all learned during fundamentals in nursing ? Can you kindly explain why many nursing students say this is the part where most students are “ kicked out” of programs . They need to score 100% ? Can you share your experience . Feeling a bit worried here . Thank you 😊
