It has officially been 1 year since I purchased my 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO. While there are many things I love about the truck, there are also some things that I dislike. Do the pros outweigh the cons to where I am convinced to keep this truck long term?

I love my 1794. At first, I kind of regretted it because I wanted the Pro so badly. I searched even outside of my state but couldn't find one. Somehow, I ended up getting a white 1794. Later, I found out that the 1794 has a lot of things that the Pro doesn't, like automatic running boards, an automatic bed step, interior ambient lighting, and a dashcam. Getting a 1794 is like owning three different cars: you get a truck that can drive like a sports car with a luxurious SUV interior.I also noticed that when the bed is loaded with weight, it drives much smoother, which I think is due to the air suspension.

You didn’t put too many miles on it. My TRD pro got 16k miles on it already. So far love it.

Glad u mentioned the dash cam…I have a 23 iForceMAX and it’s so damn frustrating trying to connect and get the data in…the safe is a must. Nice truck btw!

Glad you're still liking the TRD Pro. The ambient lighting is a head scratcher for me...I mean the 1794, Platinum, and Capstone have it why not the TRD pro? I had the same truck as you but after only 6 months I was done with it. I had a few other dislikes than you did not say. Interior cheapness feel. The interior felt cheap to me with creaky plastic everywhere. The drivers side seat side panel had a small crack and felt like it buckled every time I got in and out...ticking time bomb there. Center console squeak that I DIY fixed. Wireless phone charger is virtually non existent...never charges the phone. The biggest thing for me was the hybrid regen braking system. When ever I pressed down on the brake at whatever speed the system would make this high-pitched humming noise. Brought it to Toyota and they claimed that was normal (maybe it had something to do with the cold winter weather in New England...IDK). That made me hate driving the truck. Ended up trading it in for 2023 Raptor (my dream truck) and have never been happier. I still like the new Tundra but would not go back to one now.

Nice truck. Great video. Hope to see you do a bunch more videos about it. I love the new styling of the new Tundra's but like most guys, I am weary of the turbo V6. But if anyone can make them solid I would think it would be Toyota. I just bought a 2021 Tundra TRD off road in the cement color. I had to have the V8. Good luck with everything.

Hey brotha still love the tundra the lighting in the truck is lacking a lot… the regular TRD sport or off road I believe gets slightly better gas we averaged about 19 mpg on ours best we got is about 21 have you had any rattlers in yours ?

Great video, and content, have they addressed any of your "complaints" with the 2023?

Great video. I actually have watched all of your Tundra videos and think you did a great job covering the truck. As a 2021 TRD Pro owner there is nothing in this new truck for me that justifies the $20-25K increase in cost for a new truck.

I for one have a real problem with the entry cost to these new Tundra's. I know Bidenflation has destroyed the entire economy including the truck industry, but I don't see the $20-25K value added to these vehicles.

Glad you enjoyed it and best of luck with your channel.

17.1 mpg's is real good, I have a 2014 tundra trd with 165k miles and I'm getting 13.5 mpg.

You haven’t had issues with premature tire wear? Toyota replaced mine after 15k miles

I’ve had my 23 limited for 6 months now about to hit 11k miles she’s been good but a lot shop visits to get warranty work done but other than that I’ve averaging about 21 mpg throughout my ownership and a trip I from okc to dallas yesterday yielded 26 mpg going 70-75 mph this truck can be better if toyota picks up the pace 😂 like how are our rear brakes still squealing. I got the 2wd model for most terrain its okay only once I gotten stuck but some railroad ties got me out 😂

Buys a off road truck and complains about ambient lighting. How are you gonna survive the mall and Starbucks? LoL

Toyota vehicle will improve mpg in first 20k or so .
6k is nothing.
Mpg improvement over V8 would mainly be due to the extra ratios of the 10 speed on highway. Stop start driving it won’t result in much improvement.

You won’t keep that truck more than two years, money to spend and you’ll spend it!
