2022 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO review by The Straight Pipes. The Toyota Tundra is putting down 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque from a Hybrid 3.5L Twin Turbo V6. At who knows what price CAD, would you take it over the Ram 1500 Rebel, Ford F-150 Raptor?

Find your ProClip mount and device holder, 15% off with code STRAIGHTPIPES:

Ditch the unreliable suction cup phone mounts and flimsy vent clip holders and upgrade to a better phone holder from ProClip.
ProClip mounting bases are designed specifically for the exact make, model and year of your car. They easily snap into the seams of the dashboard for a tight fit. Then, attach the phone holder to securely hold your smartphone in place while you drive. ProClip phone holders can fit phones with or without cases, and charge wirelessly or with a charging cord to keep your phone in place, charged and ready to go.

This Tundra gives me an incredible amount of hope for the new 4Runner.

This thing looks wild. I will 100% getting this in 15 years with 300, 000 miles.

Wasn't big on the looks on the first press release, but it's growing on me and I honestly think it will look better in person.
As for the updates, the new powertrains sound promising (especially hybrid variant), and interior is a big step up. There are a few things about the user interface I'm not a fan of (but that's true of just about every new vehicle)

Now to talk about the elephant in the room - That on board fuel economy readout was 5.2 l/100 km. That's 45 mpg. While I'm sure that's not accurate, I'm curious to see what the real mileage is on this truck. Keep in mind, the hybrid F150 is rated at 24 mpg (city and highway). If this truck can match or beat that mileage with its power advantage and Toyota's legendary reliability (yes, even their hybrids have proven incredibly reliable), the Tundra should be a no-brainer for shoppers looking for $40k+ trucks in the full sized segment.

Do you know why I enjoy your reviews...? Because you two are actual car/truck enthusiasts.
You are prepared with actual data of the vehicle you are reviewing. I enjoy your camaraderie. Keep up the good work. You guys are spot of with your reviews. Thx

Prototype!! I really hope car manufacturers start doing this more (releasing prototype vehicles for review). Such a unique perspective to see what Toyota is working on. Bravo!

You had me at twin turbo. The aftermarket is going to squeeze a shit ton of horsepower out of this bad boy.

The one thing I like about Toyota trucks is that the modification market is massive, you can do so many modifications with these trucks and many that don't really break the bank.

This Tundra looks like it's about to transform 🦾🔥

I really want to see it in person. Cars can look very different in real life compared to a computer screen. For instance, the new Bronco debut a few months ago blew me away. I was in awe. I finally got to see the Badlands version a few days ago. as nice as I remembered.

I’m not even gonna lie, I wasn’t very partial to the new styling, but after seeing it in this video, it made quite a good impression on me, thanks to the overall quality of the video. Thanks a lot guys, completely changed my view on this truck! Keep up the good work fellas 👍🏼

Yuri. 16:35. You have to get the Platinum or 1794 model to get 4 way lumbar for driver and passenger. The driver in those trims get a thigh cushion extender

I feel trucks more than other vehicles have “questionable” looks to start that end up growing on consumers. This one is def growing on me. Genuine enthusiasts modify their vehicles so I’m reserving judgement until we see what the aftermarket comes out with. Other than the wild looks, they knocked everything else out of the park.

as an orange TRD owner, I approve. If anyone hates the front end, look up a render of this with a steel or color matched front bumper, totally fixes how massive the grille looks!

I’m so glad Toyota finally updated that old ass infotainment system they’ve had before

People love the trucks like the Tundra, Sequoia, 4Runner and Land Cruiser for how timeless they were. People who buy these vehicles don’t want all the extra fancy stuff that you are never going to use and will probably break. I think this is the perfect remodel! Hope the rest of Toyota trucks follow suit.

Everyone will miss the longevity of the V8 as the turbo engines need more maintenance and will never last as long no matter who makes them.

Great video and as a 2019 Super Duty owner, Toyota have absolutely killed it with the looks of this Truck. It. Is. Great !!
