If y'all haven't seen at LEAST Yorknew in the 1999 version, please do. It's my favorite arc between both versions, and solidified Kurapika as one of my favorite characters of all time. The way they potrayed him was pure poetry. I love the 2011 version too, but I feel like most people who undercut the genius of Kurapika's character haven't seen that version of HxH.

1999 dark/nostalgic (rewatched about 10 times until 2011 came out)
2011 more colorful/semi-nostalgic (since I've already rewatched this version 10 times in past 10 years lol)

I really need to rewatch the 99 version again! Been wayyy too long like not since 2005 😢
But it's kinda a bummer it doesn't continue to chimera-ant-arc.

I watched the v1999 probably X-yrs ago when i was a kid, and recently watching the v2011 (for the 1st time) as an adult, my initial thought was "what's the difference with the 1st version?" As i still remember the characters the way i remember 1999, Then saw a bunch of comparison, and surely there's lot of design changes made, but i still love both versions.
