Collectivism vs Individualism - Is One Better Than the Other?

The feeling that individual free will and choices are being constrained by society occurs because our society is becoming more fearful. In a love-based culture, the collective perception is different. A society made of people that voluntary work together and help each other assures a maximum individual freedom of choice.

So another way to look at it is that collectivism has to arise organically from the bottom-up (as a result of love become dominant instead of fear), rather than being imposed from the top-down (as in a socialist/communist political system)?

A healthy collectivist is individualist. A healthy individualist is collectivist. Standing entireky on either side is a mistake.

Looking at human history, one could argue that this madhouse is slowly but surely moving in the right direction. A bit too slow for my taste though. The remaining empires divide the world up like gangs of criminals who don't really want to fight each other anymore. It's kind of an all-powerful cartel. I wish all people could just change their fear-driven slave mentality at the same time. The world could become a much better place overnight. Maybe things have to change slowly though.

Forced collectivism only further invokes fear and the desire for individualism.
The individual can evolve by freely choosing a collective free of fear. For the collective to remain free from fear, all members within will have gone through this process willingly and remain in this fearless phase of consciousness.
We cannot tell others what to be, it must remain an individual choice or it’s value lost.

What about patriotism, which would belong to the selfless contribution to the collective, but on the other hand, it can be used for manipulation by the ruling structures within the collective? Do we need it completely holistic understanding of the universe to avoid possible manipulations?
