Don't confuse "state
capitalism" with free
enterprise. These two
paradigms are mutually
exclusive in that state
capitalism promotes
collectivism, but free
enterprise promotes
individualism.

"The strongest argument
for free enterprise is that
it prevents anybody from
having too much power."
[Milton Friedman]

Maybe the US should be divided into two halves. The west would be large government collectivism with state services, welfare etc and the east would be for the free market with no gov support. Then you just choose where to live and the debate is over.

Says individualist don't believe in taking the fruit of other peoples labor.... but yet support capitalism, which is that exact thing. God how much worse can the contradictions get.

Ayn Rand this Ayn Rand that. For an individualist Hoenig is apparently incapable of thinking for himself.

It was clear that Jesus said there was an individual responsibility to care for the poor. He didn't say that Rome should.

Can an individual really achieve anything on his own, without the help of anyone else.

Individualism at its perfect state is freedom for me and slavery for everyone else. We did that already !
