The actress who plays Jenny ironically does all the heavy lifting in this scene. She really sells the fear and helplessness that makes Superman's effort mean something real and tanglible you can see.

When he's looking up at the heart of the world engine, he bares a striking resemblance to Chris Reeve in those few moments.

This is a scene that really defines what it means to find strength within yourself to overcome the weight of the world. This version of Superman is not only a hero men can aspire to be like, but a hero that everyone can relate to. As a man who battles his own demons and depression every day, I find so much encouragement and emotion in this scene because I see him as myself with the weight of the world on his shoulders but still finding strength to overcome weakness and rise. Truly a masterpiece of a scene

I love how Snyder’s movies show that anyone can be a hero, whether it’s Superman saving the world or Perry not leaving Jenny in the face of death 🥹

That's a man, he held her hand & was ready to die so she wouldn't die alone. He didn't bail on her, he was willing to die to comfoft her & gave her a look that said "I'm sorry I can't save you but I'm not leaving, I'll die with you" Amazing!!

I like how Kryptonian technology in this movie looks infinitely advanced, yet creates an unsettling feeling of a living organism.
You know how powerful it is when a terraforming device can work almost completely autonomous and has nearly perfect defence mechanism that bodies even Superman in the air of his home planet.

The moment he truly becomes superman is the greatest scene in any superhero film.

I cannot stress how much I love this movie. It genuinely depresses me that WB can't see the cinematic gold in front of them and the potential to build an intertwined cinematic universe

Snyder said that Cavill's morphing into Christopher Reeve was not intentional...gotta love the CG-Artist who rendered that scene...

I think what’s amazing about this that isn’t stated but is obvious… is that during this scene Clark could hear every human on earth screaming and crying to be saved. He KNEW he had to give it literally all he had. There was no room for failure

Crazy to think this was all happening while the flash had his new powers and Batman was there too

3:52 This is the moment where he became earths greatest savior. He stood underneath the world engine to keep it from killing more people and destroying the entire city, not knowing whether it could kill him in the process but that’s the sacrifice he took for humanity who were powerless to stop Zod in his quest to destroy their planet. This is who Superman is and what he was sent here to do even if it would’ve caused him his own life his in the process and that is what makes him the greatest superhero of em all.

I don’t know how people can look at this and say “This is too dark and depressing”. I mean are you kidding me? This gives me so many more emotions than a majority of superhero movies today. That scene of him slowly raising his fist and taking off to destroy the world engine despite the obvious weakening it has on him—on top of the score—just wrenches my heart so much. It’s so sad to me that people throw away movies like this in favor of light adventures. Not that that’s bad because everyone has their own tastes, but calling this movie edgy and depressing? God that is so not true. And it’s because of people like that that we won’t get superhero movies like this anymore. Sigh.. honestly I legitimately want to cry on the inside…

This movie was so ahead of it's time, it's just sad. If it had been released around 2018 or 19, it would not have received the hate it got during that time. This was such a good origin movie
