I think the genius of Christian eschatology/ontology is in the assertion that creation is ***personal***. God the Father himself, the Creator of All Things, is both utterly tyranscendant yet immanent, is also a Person.. A Person in whose image and likeness all men are made. If ego is a byproduct of god consciousness then needing proof of the god consciousness' love is redundant. Reality, truth, and love are all the same thing at a certain level.

The need to know if god cares about you to first engage in transformation is egoistic self-deception. You engage with higher consciousness and higher consciousness engages with you. If you care about god then god cares about you. No need to draw unnecessary distinctions based on pride.
