Wait till you see how it looks after 5 Months!

There is still so much to do, I need to build the staircase together with my carpenter Kazuki-san for example! You will be amazed what will happen in the next Tokyo Renovation Diaries episodes!

As someone who does tile work. I prefer neutral colors for the kitchen. A white color will keep the brightness of the room as opposed to something else. Since its part of the living room/dining room that is really going to dictate your choice of tile to fit the rest of the room. If you have to pick a color blue is good. I don't know your options in Japan but you might even want to considered larger tile pieces. You can even get a marble looking ones that are print and they look really good. Anyway put it on the backlog because the tile is one of the last if not the last thing you should be doing. Make sure all the electrical and plumbing can get to where its needed, appliance choice, cabinet choice, and then countertops (in that order) done first.

Honest as a chinese, I do respect your hard work and now we can see it will become a good place to live in.... Seems all hard work pays! Very well done, Anton!

I like L shape kitchen idea. You do not want to block the windows with a refrigerator. I like light colored tiles with the wood beams.

Loving this series so far! Really integrating the swedish style while enjoying the Japanese features. I wouldn't personally keep the short walls on the second floor. But it seems that you are having the best of both worlds. Keep up the good work👏

If you get the house renovated by next summer and like you said turning it into Airbnb house I will consider renting it out since I plan on visiting japan next summer

Thanks for the inspiration! We are picking up the keys to our own akiya in the countryside in a couple of weeks and will start our renovation journey. I'm sure it's going to be a challenge but it's encouraging to see your success!

I desperately need to rent this beautiful house when it is on Air Bnb for my next stay in Tokyo. Great jovb you did here. I love your design ideas with the shower and outside green area. Can't wait for the stairs.

Although illumination is great, I agree with you it is still dark by the color of your hair when indoors: instead of blonde, it looks quite dark, almost brown (or you dyed it ?) Anyway, renovation is taking good shape, good luck and great job!

White subway tiles with spots of blue or green or both

SO I could lie down on that tatami floor for all day!! I’ve been looking for a small house for rent in Nezu area but it’s really hard to find decent one. Maybe I should buy one myself and renovate it? It seems a lot of effort though🤔

White tiles, not blue!! Also, by all means ditch the pebbled glass. It’s horrible. I live in a place in Kyoto where almost all the windows are pebbled glass and it’s like being underwater.

Nice improvements. I don’t like L kitchens either. ❤

I wish you would mark your videos for the ones that are specifically dealing with renovating your home. I like all your videos but I get frustrated trying to find the ones on your renovation. That was why I started watching in the first place.
