Always baffled me how a legend that can fly and shoot missiles was ever seen as anything but an offensive legend. I like this change but I still feel like more things should be done to help balance out the recon class, especially with Vantage coming out next week.

When I play Valk a lot of the time I forget she can even SCAN the beacons. This seems like a fair and balanced nerf tho.

Every valk player in existence will be happy if that's the only nerf she's getting. Don't think it'll change much, Gibby + Valk still close to must picks, especially on Stormpoint. And then you get to pick wether you'll run Seer or Bloodhound, with probably most leaning towards Seer right now? Kings Canyon and Stormpoint are a bit worse for Seer I guess with how open they are.

Frankly, if that's the only nerf it might result in even less variety in pro games since scanning beacons is really good civ? With Valk being able to do both movement and scanning beacon the third legend was a somewhat free pick so you could put in a Caustic or Horizon or Seer or whatever else you felt like. Now it might just be Gibby + Valk + 1 Recon. Obviously not trying to say that's how it should be. Valk being so good that she does the job of multiple people and thus you have the option to fill in the third spot with different people isn't what it should be either but it's what it is.
Think it'll be good for ranked variety though since noone plays Gibby outside of 3stacks or master/Pred lobbies

I feel like the scan while skydiving should be put on crypto, because he has nobody playing him ever. This would mean that if you want more information with valks ult, you may need to sacrifice a meta tracking legend like seer for crypto. This would help diversify team composition because it would require you to sacrifice part of the meta.

where a man that creates clones and reveals the position of enemies that shoot them is classified as assault...

Finally! Been thinking this since the beginning, having the beacon scan makes her o.p. Keeping Path's value up with this change.

What I find Hilarious is that all of the games I play, I have seen plenty of valkyries scanning survey beacons yet I have not seen many pathfinders scan survey beacons despite the fact that pathfinder’s passive is them getting buffs from scanning survey beacons.

it'd be cool if when there is a recon legend attached to your ult/skydiving from dropship you gain the ability to scan people while diving like she has now, but if no recon legend attaches to her ult or is in her team on drop you don't have the power to scan while diving

Personally, I would like to see the prowler smg to have full auto again. This would be amazing

I think the scan when skydiving should be moved to Pathfinder & Crypto.

Crypto, because his drone can scan nearby enemies mid flight.

Pathfinder, well, because he is a robot.

Would definitly give these two characters a minor buff that doesn't effect too much other than when you are skydiving. Will also nerf Valk a little bit aswell.

in general it‘s quite unfair how the newer legends always are way more complex in their abilities, especially how strong some of their passives are; for example valk can fly and easily get out of trouble, whereas wraith hears voices that are practically useless in fights.

Scanning beacons become pointless after the first ring since the consequent rings form in 1 direction and the first ring tells you the direction.

I'm predicting that this will change almost nothing. People will still use her since she has the best repositioning ability in the game.

After a couple months of every single squad running Valkyrie it gets really really stale lol, like these changes and I think most will agree. However the meta still won’t change for the pros when they’re running seer anyway.

It baffles me that they still haven’t added/recategorized some kind of Reposition class. It’d make so much more sense for a ton of current “Assault” legends (Valk, Wraith, Octane just to name a few)

Valk already has two solid passive abilities in Sky dive scans and a freakin Jetpack. she never really needed to have a third lol

Seems good I hope they don’t change the scanning enemies while flying. I like turning my brain off when I’m flyin around.

They would really rather do all that than just add a simple “spotted by Valkyrie” message, like they have with literally any other scanning legend
