I mean, what this scene tells us is that despite being more accomplished than Leonard, Leonard's siblings have also failed so far to earn their mother's approval or pride. So either they've grown to care less than Leonard about their mother being unaffectionate, or they are in exactly in the same boat as Leonard. It was a missed oppurtunity to never show us Leonard's siblings when we met everyone else's (actually, we didnt meet Bernadette's siblings either, which is a shame.)

His mom disses Howard by telling him first how unremarkable he is and then goes for his key insecurity. Touche!

Honestly in my top 3 scenes on the show. This along with when Penny gives Sheldon a napkin used by Leonard Nimoy on Christmas and then the time Sheldon bonded with Bernie's dad over football and beer and got drunk and slapped Amy on the behind. Her look of joy after that was priceless.

🤣🤣🤣 This also explains why Lenard is able to be around Sheldon easier than others. But how Boss was she about not taking credit in her children's accomplishments. Most would at least take some credit for raising them.
And Lenard just tossing out a couple of facts about his friends and saying "Go" to his mom was amusing.
