Why monk fruit might be the best option.

The natural low-calorie sweeteners, monk fruit, Stevia, and allulose are preferable to artificial sweeteners which can disrupt the gut Microbiome and contribute to metabolic dysfunction, irritable bowel disease and obesity. Of the natural sweeteners, Stevia has been shown to negatively effect the gut Microbiome as well.
Allulose is a good choice, but ‘fairly new’ and commercially produced from corn. The glucose extracted from corn is chemically converted to a fructose-like molecule. So the commercial production process is not very natural.
Allulose does occur naturally in fruit, but in small amounts only.
Monk fruit is 150 to 200 times as sweet as sugar and extracted directly from the fruit. It may actually be good for the gut Microbiome and can (at least in rodent studies) help to regulate blood glucose and decrease insulin resistance in type two diabetes.
In the laboratory setting, monk fruit showed prebiotic effects in human gut microbes.

Allilose is a available since 1944 and causes some gastric disruption as written on the label of the product. Thanks for your effort.

Actually a lot of allulose comes from chicory and sun chokes. Just make sure it is transparent on the label and non gmo

Ive found that a couple of soft dates can be squashed into a cup and will naturally sweeten my coffee really well. I scoop out the remains of the dates too at the end of my coffee so i dont lose the fibre.

I got the impression dates are a relatively healthy form of sweet.

Allulose has many benefits not mentioned here that monkfruit does not have. I use both depending on circumstances, monkfruit is a great sweetness enhancer for allulose. For cooking and carmelizing allulose is better.

That's what my research has led me to believe too! Can you maybe do an in-depth video on monk fruit?

I have been eating monk fruit whole all the time in soup when I was a child.

What about the glyphosate do you have to buy organic or is the regular one safe

Allulose gives me explosive gas..ect. I like the thought of using prebiotic inulin but that also is pretty crazy in my gut. I used pure monk fruit powder yesterday and it's a really bad aftertaste overtaking the my meyer lemon, fresh mint, orange and cardamom cookies. I use birch xylitol most but I get some gas but not as bad as allulose and inulin. I have leaky gut so sugar alcohols are still rough especially erythritol. I don't like what maple syrup and honey do to some recipes they don't work in everything and they aren't keto. the struggle 😭😭

Both monk fruit and allulose are incredibly expensive, if you find quality products.
Stevia can be grown at home (buy seeds online), dried and made into an alcohol (vodka) or glycerine (food grade) tincture for pure product. Stevia products are easily available everywhere, yet much of the available product is a modified extract that’s cheap. When buying stevia, look for pure stevia extract and not some version of the extract. In thigh quantities it can disrupt the microbiome, whereas using a quality tincture can be very sweet and less is needed. If making tinctures at home, lots of videos are available and with experience it’s easy to figure out how to improve the quality and potency.
Coconut sugar is low calorie as is raw agave, but it must be raw or is similar to high fructose corn syrup.
To lower the amount of expensive sweeteners, I will mix them with less expensive ones thus stretching them - I do this because I now prefer the taste of stevia after years of experimenting with sweeteners. This way I get the flavour I prefer and mix it with a sweetener that doesn’t disrupt the microbiome as much and stretch other sweeteners a bit too.
Coconut sugar has great flavour for baking, monk fruit liquid tastes great and sweetens very well and allulose very neutral on the gut as well as bakes similar to sugar. Erythritol tends to impart a funny flavour to baking and has a cooling effect of the tongue and is best when powdered (in coffee grinder) because it doesn’t fully dissolve and can be a bit crunchy. Erythritol is fine in coffee though and doesn’t disrupt the body much.
I’m unsure why, but have noticed that I got a spike from Swerve brand products.

Thank you for this video! I have problems with glucose und fructose. Because of leaky gut. How much does monkfruit contain of this?

I've just bought organic green Stevia [from the plant powdered form]. Decided on this as an alternative to sugar after researching. It's pricey but will last as I've basically cut sugar out [as much as I'm able to anyway as it's in so many foods] & this will do if I need to add to my porridge. You only need a tiny bit..very sweet.

But I last boiled it quite often as Chinese herbal drinks, this type of fruit can't take too much and too often, is considered cooling, when it this found to be converted into sugar, no idea,

Monkfruit is also chemically altered.

Thank you so much :D I've been back and forth a bit if I should purchase this or xylitol. I may use both occassionally. what are your thoughts on monk fruit in granular form? Does that process make it less natural or healthy?

Does RxSugar Allulose contain the the protein Zein from corn or has it been removed in the processing?

I have had the less refined pure monk fruit powder with a little bit of golden color and it tastes a little like concord grape juice to me, very sweet with no nasty after taste or that hollow unsatisfying sweetness you get from stevia. I prefer the little bit of concord grape juice taste to anything bitter or hollow or fake. It's pretty amazing. It has antioxidants that are good for you that I sense when I taste it straight. Try that with stevia: yuck! Golden monk fruit sweetner is heads and shoulders above any other no-calorie sweetner. A lot of monk fruit comes mixed with erythritol and they don't tell you how much monk fruit is in it. It's lame. I want a monk fruit vine/tree. The pure monk fruit stuff is spendy, but you need such small amounts. Put it in a jar or something safe. Easy to spill a stupid bag.

where can you find monkfruit without erythritol? pretty much all commercially available monkfruit is mixed with an erythritol base
